When I first started, nutrition was the driver. I wanted to understand how food could give me more energy, help me recover, and support the goals I set for myself. Taking a nutrition course for my own learning took it up another level. It gave me the knowledge and structure to fuel my training properly, and it changed the way I looked at health altogether.
From there, Body Combat became the natural outlet. It gave me the intensity, the energy, and the community I had been looking for. Nutrition and Combat together became the foundation of my health and fitness journey.
But over the past few weeks, while taking a short break from teaching, I have realised this journey is becoming much more than that. Training at home has given me the chance to explore Body Pump for strength, and Body Balance for mindfulness as well as flexibility and control. Balance especially has taught me to slow down, connect breath with movement, and recognise that progress is not always about pushing harder. Sometimes it is about being present, listening to your body, and taking time to reset.
This pause has made me think differently about what Health Fitness Journey should represent. It is not just about workouts or nutrition anymore. It is about the bigger picture, mindset, resilience, recovery, lifestyle, and how all of these fit together to create lasting health. Too often, fitness is presented as a single track: a workout plan, a strict diet, or a quick transformation. But the reality is layered. There are setbacks, pauses, shifts in focus, and lessons that go far beyond the physical.
That is the gap I want this site to fill, to share the real side of my health journey, not just the ‘highlight reel’.
So, as I prepare to return to teaching Body Combat at the end of the month, this blog will also begin to expand. Expect more around nutrition, movement, and mindfulness, but also recovery, lifestyle, and the mindset that holds it all together.
Something new is also coming in the background. A way to take this wider vision and share it in a different form. For now, I will simply say this: my journey started with nutrition, grew with Body Combat, and is now evolving into something much more. And so will this site.
