Who we are
Health Fitness Journey (healthfitnessjourney.com) is run by Oz Gani. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, sign up for the newsletter, or leave a comment, and how it is used.
Comments
When a comment is left on the site, the data shown in the comment form is collected, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
Images uploaded to this site may contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract this data from any image on the site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you do not need to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
If you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, several cookies are set to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select ‘Remember Me’, your login will persist for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
If an article is edited or published, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article that was edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Articles on this site may include embedded content, such as videos, images or articles from other websites. Embedded content from another website behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited that website directly.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email. If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored in the site’s FluentCRM system to send you updates and is not shared with third parties beyond the tools needed to send that email. The site also uses Google Analytics, via Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors use the site; Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows follow-up comments to be recognised and approved automatically, rather than being held in a moderation queue. Newsletter subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left a comment on this site, or subscribed to the newsletter, you can request an exported copy of the personal data held about you, including anything you have provided. You can also request that this data be erased, except where it must be kept for administrative, legal or security purposes. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, please get in touch.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Newsletter sign ups are processed and stored using the site’s FluentCRM system, hosted alongside this website. Analytics data is processed by Google via Google Site Kit.
