The past few months have been a real step forward in my fitness journey. I’m now teaching four Les Mills Body Combat classes a week, averaging around 18 classes a month. That’s alongside day-time work, family life and everything else that comes with a packed schedule. It’s busy, but it’s working and it definitely helps being a productivity expert.
I started teaching Body Combat because I love the programme, honestly my most favourite time at the gym. It pushes you hard, keeps you sharp and gives back more than just fitness. What’s developed over time is the connection with participants in class. Every week I’ve found myself engaging more, learning more about what people respond to and how to keep energy high right to the final track.
A moment that really stuck with me recently was when I covered a morning class and later saw a few of those same participants come back for the evening session a few days later which I was also teaching. That kind of commitment meant a lot. It reminded me why showing up consistently matters. People notice and they respond to your energy. I was also touched by this feedback from one of the members:
“Just wanted to send some feedback on Oz who has taught combat recently. The classes were great, really motivational, well organised and skilfully delivered. I hope he comes back.”
Messages like that stay with you. You give so much to every class, but it’s not always clear how it may land and receiving this kind of feedback is a reminder of why I do this.
June brings the new Body Combat 103 release, and I can’t wait to bring that to the studio. Fresh tracks, new combinations, and another opportunity to challenge ourselves and grow stronger together. If you’re already part of my classes, thank you and bring on those high intensity weekly Body Combat sessions, I’m not going to slow down anytime soon.
